What is FreshSeeing?
FreshSeeing is an AI companion for contemplative self-inquiry, with fourteen conversation gateways designed to facilitate genuine insight rather than advice. It works as a mirror: instead of telling you what to do, it helps you notice what is alive beneath your own words. Stored conversations are end-to-end encrypted, and it is free to try with no account required.
Can AI help with spiritual awakening or self-inquiry?
AI cannot awaken anyone, and FreshSeeing does not claim to. What a well-designed AI conversation can do is hold a space for looking: reflecting your words back, asking the question underneath your question, and staying present without an agenda. Insight is entirely human; it arises in you. FreshSeeing is trained to point you back to that source rather than to position itself as the authority.
How is FreshSeeing different from ChatGPT or a regular AI chatbot?
General chatbots are built to answer, advise, and keep you engaged. FreshSeeing is built for insight: its fourteen gateways are each trained to facilitate a different kind of contemplative conversation, from quiet listening to direct inquiry. It gives no advice, assigns no techniques, and is not engineered for engagement. It also encrypts stored conversations end-to-end, which general chatbots do not.
What are the fourteen gateways?
The gateways are fourteen distinct conversation modes: See, Allow, Draw, Forgive, Receive, Awaken, Undo, Decide, Play, Listen, Bridge, Prism, Initiate, and Recognize. Each is a different way of being met. Some listen, some speak first, some meet the intellect, and some meet a want. See, the original gateway, can be tried free without an account.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, two ways. You can try the See gateway at freshseeing.com/try with no account at all. And every new account begins with Navigate: 2 to 3 free conversations, no card required.
How much does FreshSeeing cost?
Monthly plans: Arriving at $11.10 per month (around 9 conversations), Grounding at $33 per month (around 33 conversations), and Opening at $66 per month (around 66 conversations). During the opening period there is also a Charter Membership: $111 for a year at the Opening tier, or $222 once for the lifetime of FreshSeeing. All plans include all fourteen gateways and end-to-end encryption, and every subscription supports community scholarships.
Is FreshSeeing private? Can anyone read my conversations?
Stored conversations use zero-knowledge encryption: they are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before storage, and FreshSeeing does not hold your encryption keys, so it cannot read them. One important distinction: when you send a message, it travels over an encrypted connection to Anthropic, the AI provider, which reads it to generate the response. Anthropic processes messages under its commercial terms and does not use them to train its models.
Is FreshSeeing therapy or a mental health service?
No. FreshSeeing is not therapy, coaching, or a substitute for professional mental health services, and it requires users to be 18 or older. If you are in crisis or need clinical support, please reach a qualified professional or a local helpline.
Is there an AI for nondual inquiry or contemplative practice?
Yes. FreshSeeing is built specifically for contemplative inquiry. Its gateways draw on the spirit of nondual and insight-based approaches: conversations about desire, forgiveness, decisions, and identity that keep pointing attention back to direct seeing rather than to concepts, techniques, or self-improvement.
What AI model powers FreshSeeing?
FreshSeeing runs on Claude, made by Anthropic, with each gateway shaped by its own conversational training. Your data is not used to train Anthropic models, per their commercial terms. FreshSeeing is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic.
Who built FreshSeeing?
FreshSeeing was built in Bergen, Norway by Kristian Larsen, after 27 years of contemplative practice and five years of coaching this way of seeing. It is operated by Transmission Technologies AS, Norwegian organization number 934179757.
What does FreshSeeing mean by "insight"?
An insight is not information, understanding, or figuring things out. It is a direct seeing: a moment where something shifts at the level of perception itself. When you truly see something, you do not have to change; change happens on its own. That is the premise the whole product is built on.
Which gateway should I start with?
Start with See. It is the original gateway, it needs no background or preparation, and you can try it free at freshseeing.com/try without creating an account. From there, the other gateways tend to find you.
Where is my data stored?
In the European Union. The database (Supabase) is geo-locked to EU servers and hosting (Vercel) runs in the EU region. FreshSeeing is GDPR compliant and operated from Norway.
